1964.5 289 D-code Convertible Mustang

RARE as built and highly desirable

Early Mustang …. often referred to as the 64.5 model, AND this is one is the coveted factory “D” code 289 equipped example. For the early Mustangs, the D-code is the rarer and more desirable 289 with a 4-bbl carburetor (with good power), not the smaller 260 V8 typically found in the 1964.5 run of Mustangs. Making it even more desirable is the fact that it came in beautiful Skylight Blue which is a 1964.5 ONLY color. This is a very sought after color, especially when combined with the Dark Blue interior. As factory built, this is one of the hardest of the early convertibles to find and this one has a high integrity original body with very nice paint. It’s also a HIGH OPTION example that’s an absolute pleasure to drive .
